Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the Service. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name (if provided), email address, and a hashed password. If you sign in with a third-party provider in the future, we will receive the information that provider shares with us (typically name, email, and a provider ID).
Content you create
We store the prompts, topics, scripts, voice selections, generated narration audio, images, subtitles, and final video files you create through the Service. This content is tied to your account and is private unless you choose to publish or share it.
Connected social accounts (OAuth)
When you connect a third-party publishing platform such as YouTube, we collect and store the OAuth credentials (access token, refresh token, expiry) and minimal public profile information (such as channel ID, channel title, and thumbnail) needed to publish videos on your behalf. We only request the scopes required to upload and manage videos you create through AutoReelr. You can disconnect any connected account at any time from the share dialog in the Service, which immediately revokes the stored tokens from our database.
Payment and billing (if applicable)
If you purchase credits or a paid plan, payment information is handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we store only a transaction reference and the metadata needed to reconcile billing.
Usage and device data
We automatically collect standard server logs, including IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, timestamps, and error events. We use this data to diagnose issues, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We may use privacy-preserving analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and operate the Service, including generating scripts, voices, images, subtitles, music, and rendered video files.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Publish videos to a connected third-party platform (e.g., YouTube) at your explicit request.
- Track credit balances and process transactions.
- Respond to support requests and user communications.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and lawful requests from authorities.
- Improve the Service, including anonymized analysis of usage patterns.
Use of YouTube API Services
AutoReelr’s YouTube publishing feature uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You also acknowledge that Google’s privacy practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.
When you connect YouTube, AutoReelr requests the minimum scopes required for uploading videos (youtube.upload and youtube.readonly). With your authorization, we:
- Read your channel ID, title, and thumbnail so we can display which channel is connected.
- Upload video files you have generated through AutoReelr, along with the title, description, and tags you choose, to your channel.
- Refresh our access token periodically so that scheduled or re-triggered uploads continue to work.
AutoReelr does not view, download, or modify any existing videos on your channel. AutoReelr does not read your subscriber list, comments, analytics, or private data beyond the public channel information listed above.
You can revoke AutoReelr’s access to your YouTube account at any time by visiting your Google Account permissions page or by disconnecting the account from within AutoReelr. Revoking access will immediately prevent AutoReelr from publishing to that channel and will delete the stored OAuth tokens from our systems.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in the limited circumstances below.
Service providers
We rely on a small set of vetted infrastructure and processing providers (e.g., cloud hosting, database hosting, AI model providers for generation, and payment processing). These providers are bound by contractual obligations to process data only as instructed and to keep it secure.
At your direction
When you choose to publish a generated video to a connected platform (e.g., YouTube), we transmit that video and its metadata to the platform on your behalf.
Legal compliance
We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
Business transfers
If AutoReelr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any such change in ownership or control of personal information.
Data Retention
We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. Generated videos remain in your library until you delete them or your account is deleted.
OAuth tokens for connected third-party accounts (e.g., YouTube) are retained only while the account is connected and are immediately deleted when you disconnect the account.
Server logs and aggregated usage data are retained for up to twelve (12) months for security, abuse prevention, and operational diagnostics, and then deleted or anonymized.
We may retain a minimal amount of information as required to comply with tax, accounting, or other legal obligations.
Your Choices & Rights
You can access, update, export, or delete information associated with your account at any time.
- Access & update: Sign in and manage your profile from the dashboard.
- Delete content: Delete individual videos from your library to permanently remove them from our systems.
- Disconnect third-party accounts: Open the share dialog for any video and disconnect YouTube (or any other connected platform) with one click.
- Delete your account: Contact us at the address below to request deletion of your entire account. We will delete or anonymize your personal data within thirty (30) days, subject to legal retention obligations.
EU/UK residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, rectify, restrict, delete, port, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal bases for processing are (i) performance of our contract with you, (ii) your consent (for optional features such as connecting a YouTube channel), (iii) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and (iv) compliance with legal obligations.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
Subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act and related regulations, California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted database storage for sensitive fields (such as OAuth refresh tokens), access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
International Transfers
AutoReelr operates primarily from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or in any country where our service providers maintain facilities. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect international transfers.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or operated by AutoReelr. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (for example, by email or a notice within the Service). Your continued use of the Service after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
